GREEN INITIATIVE ON DIWALI – DIWALI STALLS BY NGOS

Parivartan Club (Eco Club of SACCM) in collaboration with the SACCM Impacteers (Marketing Club of SACCM) celebrated the spirit of innovation and sustainability through the event War of Campaigns 3.0, held on 17th October 2025. The event aimed to combine creativity with consciousness by encouraging students to work with NGOs- Ek Prayaas, Ek Jot Viklang Bachon Ka School, Guru Gyan Jyoti Welfare Society, and Netrahin Manavta De Sewa Welfare Society. This promoted meaningful social and environmental messages. A total of Fifty-Two participants enthusiastically took part in the event, representing different teams and NGOs. Each team set up a campaign stall highlighting themes of sustainability, recycling, and eco-conscious living. The stalls were not only visually engaging but also educational, as students showcased innovative ideas and practical ways of reusing and upcycling waste materials.

Students demonstrated commendable creativity and responsibility in their approach. Teams reused old cardboards to design their display charts, reused leftover chart papers to minimize waste, created attractive newspaper bags and upcycled notebooks, spreading awareness about recycling and responsible consumption. Many teams consciously avoided plastic decorations, opting instead for eco-friendly alternatives such as paper bags. Adding to the spirit of sustainability, some teams set up a photo booth entirely made out of waste materials, featuring flowers made from used tinsel and fabric sourced from factory scraps. Each stall reflected the students’ strong commitment towards a cleaner and greener campus.

SOHA EXHIBITION

The Parivartan Club (Eco Club of SACCM), in collaboration with Bharat Soka Gakkai (BSG), organised an insightful and awareness-driven exhibition titled “Seeds of Hope and Action (SOHA)” on 12th February at the college campus to sensitise students towards sustainability and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event began with a Pledge for Sustainability taken by students, the Principal, and faculty members, reaffirming their commitment to environmental responsibility. The exhibition, curated by Earth Charter International & Soka Gakkai International (SGI), aimed to inspire young minds to reflect on their role in building a better future and featured 27 informative panels, including two Indian case studies, highlighting key environmental and social issues along with practical solutions aligned with the SDGs. Each panel was presented by trained student volunteers who explained its theme and relevance.

On the day of the exhibition, students across the college actively visited the displays and engaged in meaningful discussions with the panel representatives. The volunteers confidently presented their panels, fostering dialogue on sustainability, environmental responsibility, and collective action. The exhibition received enthusiastic participation and appreciation from students and faculty alike, making it a highly enriching learning experience that promoted awareness and a sense of responsibility towards sustainable living.

RIVER OF PROMISES

Parivartan Clun (Eco Club) of SACCM organised a meaningful and awareness-driven activity titled “River of Promises” on 25th March 2026 to celebrate World Water Day. The initiative aimed to sensitise students towards the importance of water conservation and encourage them to adopt sustainable water usage practices in their daily lives. The activity centred around student participation, where individuals were invited to write and share one meaningful promise reflecting their personal commitment to saving water. Students across various courses actively participated and expressed their ideas with great enthusiasm and responsibility. The promises, written with sincerity and creativity, were collectively displayed in the form of a symbolic “river,” representing a continuous flow of commitment towards preserving water resources.

The event successfully fostered awareness and encouraged students to reflect upon their everyday habits and their impact on the environment. It also promoted a sense of individual accountability and collective responsibility towards building a water-conscious society.
