Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management has the culture of commemorating the undying contribution of those who gave their all for the Motherland’s sake. The college NSS Unit took an initiative to observe the martyrdom day of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev voracious reader and a mighty thinker who kissed the hangman’s noose on March 23, 1931. In order to educate the new generation about the freedom struggle of India and also sensitize them towards the pangs of sacrifice, they made at the altar of India’s freedom, the college invited the celebrated thinker (retd.) Prof. Jaipal Singh, SCD Govt College, Ludhiana on March 22, 2022.

Principal , Prof.(Dr.) Vishal Kumar, welcomed the scholarly speaker in his own charismatic style. He also motivated the students to build in them the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness for the cause of the Motherland. He said that let us all pledge today that the great sacrifices made by the fearless Indian freedom fighter must not go unsung.

The eminent speaker, Prof. Singh, unrolled the life of martyr Bhagat Singh in the manner that the listeners received every word with rapt attention. The mammoth and momentous history that Bhagat Singh made through his mighty sacrifices brought the revolutionary spirit of the Punjabis alive, said the speaker. Prof. Jaipal asked young listeners to revive the creative and independent thinking. The speaker discussed some important pages from the life of the revolutionary Bhagat Singh. He further dwelt upon the fact that the great Bhagat had an undaunted and a fearless spirit, and such spirited youth alone are the true mettle of a nation.

Mr. Jinesh Jain and Ms. Sarita Arora coordinated the whole show. Total of 97 students were part of this commemoration event. Ms. Esha Jain thanked the speaker for his zealous talk on Bhagat Singh.
