Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana, marked the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo Ghosh alongwith the celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the 75th year of India’s Independence. Prof.( Dr.) Vishal Kumar, Principal, and the college faculty paid obeisance to Maharish Sri Aurobindo by garlanding his sacred statue and then hoisted India’s national flag TIRANGA. Following this, Dr. Jaspreet Kaur presented the inaugural address in her own charismatic manner. Succeeding this, the Principal addressed the gathering and in his address, he acquainted his listeners with the unique contribution of Sri Aurobindo to the freedom movement of India and the integral cultural of this great nation. After that, SACCM students melodiously sang the college song. Thereafter, a meditation session for the moral and spiritual upliftment of the staff and the students was conducted under the expert guidance of a professional trainer Mr. Rohit.

Subsequently, in order to pay tribute to the integral being, Sri Aurobindo, members of the faculty; Dr. Puja Jain, Dr. Leenu Anand, Ms. Esha Jain, Ms. Veenu Verma and Mr. Sahil Ghai had thoughtful deliberations on different aspects of Arvind’s life and works. Principal Dr. Kumar appreciated the faculty for their deliberations and gave his concluding remarks. A short film on the life of Aurobindo Ghosh was also shown to the audience. Afterwards, Ms. Sarita Arora presented the vote of thanks. The celebrations came to a close with the rendition of national anthem. All this was followed by a refreshing treat to all present.
