Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana, in collaboration with Youth Welfare Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh celebrated the commemorative 75 years of India’s independence by organising the grand fiesta ‘Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ on June 19, 2021. Principal Dr. Ajay Sharma formally welcomed all the illustrious speakers. He told the listeners that the college is whole heartedly celebrating all the national events. Dr. Devinder Singh, (the well-known legal luminary, Professor, Dept. of Laws and secretary to Vice Chancellor, PU, Chandigarh) the honourable Chief Guest, enlightened the gathering on the subject. He put forth before his listeners the key events of India’s independence. He also talked about various prejudices still prevalent in Indian society. Then the much-celebrated Dr. Priyatosh Sharma, (the much talked about Historian, and Chairperson, Dept. Of History, PU, Chandigarh) the key speaker for the event acquainted the listeners with his pearls of wisdom. Further, he developed a kinship with the gathering by bringing the eventful freedom movement of India quite close to the listeners. The speaker explained the contribution of various Indian movements in the freedom struggle of India. He very well threw light on the glorious history of India. The lecture delivered by hum was factual and at the same time quite arresting.
The much loved, respected, and dynamic Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director Youth Welfare Department, Panjab university, Chandigarh, spoke on the occasion in a very engrossing and interesting manner. He thanked everyone present in this intellectual webinar. Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, Professor, Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana, coordinated the whole show in her own grand rhetoric style.
