Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of SACCM in collaboration with the Research and Faculty Development Committee (RFDC) organized three days Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Role of Teacher as an Engaging Instructor in Outcome Based Education” from 25th to 27th May, 2023. Eminent resource persons from the education field were invited to share their knowledge and wisdom on the topic. The exponents included Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Verma (Dean, Mittal School of Business, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar); Prof. (Dr.) Pushpinder Kumar (Department of Commerce, Kirori Mal College, Delhi); and Dr. Prem Kumar (Executive Director, Munjal Birmingham City University Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship [MBCIE]). The sessions for the three days were very engrossing, informative and influential. The resource persons advocated for Activity Based Teaching Learning Practices and a shift in mentality from traditional teaching to activity-based and engaging teaching. They also presented valuable information regarding Innovation and Creativity in Teaching and to make the teaching process more engaging and effective. They concentrated on the use of creative approaches and methodologies such as case studies, narrative telling, interactive media, and so on. Overall, the notion was centred on the idea of outcome-based education, in which teachers assist students via learning, hands-on, engaging activities, and interactions in order to encourage student involvement. The Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar expressed gratitude by thanking the resource persons for sharing valuable knowledge from their wide reservoir of expertise. He emphasised upon the necessity of interactive teaching and outcome-based education in today’s academic and professional environment, as well as how such sessions encourage personal growth and development in people and groups. Further, he stated that incorporating creative thinking and technology into education encourages intellectual curiosity and adaptability, which benefits students in the classroom. He also commended the IQAC and RFDC committees for organising such an interesting and innovative event. He stated that such FDPs can help faculty members improve their skill set and advance their careers.
