An industrial visit to Solar Pharmaceuticals, Ludhiana was organized on 3rd August, 2026 for the students of BBA 1st Semester with the objective of providing practical exposure to industrial operations and helping students understand the application of management concepts in a real business environment. The visit was coordinated by Prof. Vinay Dawar and Prof. Sheena Sharma.
The students were warmly welcomed by the company officials, who explained the importance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality control measures, and laboratory testing of raw materials before production. During the plant tour, students observed the raw material storage area, tray dryer, tablet compression unit, and coating section, where nearly 40,000 tablets are produced every hour. The visit also covered the syrup manufacturing unit, where liquid formulations are prepared in a 1,000-litre stirring tank, followed by filling, capping, inspection, labelling, and packaging. Students further explored the manufacturing of external-use products and learned about separate production facilities for oil-based and water-based formulations, along with modern packaging and bar-coding systems. A key highlight was the interactive session with Mr. Varun Sharma, Owner of Solar Pharmaceuticals, who shared valuable insights into pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality assurance, entrepreneurship, marketing, branding, and business management while motivating students through his entrepreneurial journey.
The industrial visit proved to be highly informative and enriching, enabling students to connect classroom learning with industrial practices. The students expressed their sincere gratitude to the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, the Management of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce & Management, and the industry cell of the college for organizing this valuable experiential learning opportunity and looked forward to participating in more such industrial visits.
