SACCM TBI Organized an Expert Talk on “Entrepreneurship journey from idea to action: turning your vision into a successful startup” in the seminar hall on 28th Feb 2023. The resource person for the day was Dr Girish Sapra, the CEO of Green EnventoPvt. Ltd.
The session commenced with formal welcome by the Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar. He highlighted the importance of startups for commerce and management students in this dynamic business environment. The resource person started the talk with the introduction about entrepreneurship and startups, supported by an example of the on-air show Shark Tank India. The importance of creativity was highlighted along with making the audience understand how it is different from innovation.
Dr. Sapra highlighted that creativity is said to be a 21st century skill supported by innovation, which can bring revolution in the startup world. The audience was educated with the key concept of how to be creative and were given various techniques of Ideation – Brainstorming, Exploration and Openness, SCAMPER and mind mapping. A case study was creatively used to understand design-thinking in detail, which received an enthusiastic response from the audience. The basics of innovation and how to innovate along with its techniques and implementation were also made to be understood. The five stages of design thinking – Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test- were explained in detail with examples of recent events like covid 19, and a case study. SWOT and SMART – the two most important concepts to analyse and ideate, were also explained with clarity and interaction.
The session was concluded with a Q&A session with Dr. Sapra, who personally responded to the queries of the students who needed help and advice them with their ideas and designs. The students were glad to receive such knowledge with immense clarity, and direct interaction with the mentor. Overall, the session was well organized by SACCM-TBI committee.
