The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the Research and Faculty Development Cell (RFDC) of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, organized a two-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Designing Case Study: An Innovative Approach in Teaching and Research” on December 13–14, 2024. Dr. Amit Kumar Srivastava, Associate Professor at IIM-Bodhgaya, was the distinguished resource person for the event.

Dr. Srivastava initiated Day 1 of the FDP by engaging faculty in a case discussion, emphasizing the importance of structuring cases to uncover insights and enrich classroom discussions. He highlighted key elements that must be considered while writing the case study as a protagonist, a problem, and a teaching note including clear learning outcomes. On Day 2, Dr. Srivastava stressed drafting the teaching note before the case to align content with objectives and guided faculty in restructuring their cases through a hands-on workshop. He shared examples of his own work, offering personal guidance on listing learning objectives and designing questions. The faculty actively participated, raising queries that were addressed with clarity and expertise. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving participants equipped with practical skills for case study writing.
