Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management organised a live session on Union Budget 2023-24 which was presented by Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 1st February, 2023. It was podcasted on digital screen for the students of BCom 6 and MCom 1st Semesteri. After the budget was presented, Principal Prof (Dr.) Vishal Kumar discussed a brief review on the proposed budget by stating that Indian economy is on the right track and heading towards a bright future as the budget is balancing all the sectors of the economy. He highlighted the 7 priorities area i.e,. ‘Saptrishi’ of the budget. He emphasised that success of digital payments has to be replicated in agriculture sector. Hence, the government has brought a scheme for digital agriculture infrastructure. He also stated that the middle class has been given some relief in terms of tweaks in the new income tax regime clearly pointing out that the government wants a shift towards the new regime from the older one. Students also actively participated in the review and presented their views. The session turned out to be very interactive one.
