On the fifth day of NSS Camp, our College NSS Unit organized a free Eye Check-Up Camp for the residents of Motibagh village adjoining village Phullanwal. The team of doctors from Dr. Ramesh Superspecialist Eye and Laser Center partnered with college NSS Unit for this noble cause. The camp was organized primarily to create awareness among people for donating eyes so that they can help those who are deprived from seeing this beautiful world. Various services like eye care education, full eye checkups, free medicines were also distributed to the residents of the village. The camp aimed at providing free consultation and treatment to the villagers suffering from eye care disorders. More than 100 persons were benefitted from this camp.

There was a spectacular Nukkad Natak was performed by NSS volunteers for public on awareness regarding ‘Drug Abuse’. Volunteers urged the viewers to quit drugs as drug addiction can lead to a range of both short-term and long-term mental and physical health problems. People often turn to drugs and alcohol for an easy escape from reality, but it has a devastating impact on the society. Volunteers urged the residents to take pledge for saying ‘Not Consuming Drugs’.

There was a youth summit at Guru Nanak Dev Bhavan by Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad, Ludhiana which was attended by NSS Volunteers. Sh. Prafulla Akant ji, the main speaker delivered an influential speech which encouraged the volunteers to always consider our nation above all and try to contribute in every possible manner. Principal Prof. (Dr) Vishal Kumar thanked the Sarpanch of village and the team of doctors for helping us in organizing such a fruitful camp for the residents of our adopted village. He further inspired the volunteers to put their best efforts for the social work.
