A Surya Namaskar Challenge was organized for the students on 10 August 2026 at the Meditation Hall. The activity was conducted with the objective of promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline, mindfulness, and a healthy lifestyle among students. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 58 students. The students actively engaged in the Surya Namaskar session and demonstrated considerable enthusiasm and commitment throughout the activity. The challenge provided them with an opportunity to practice the complete sequence of Surya Namaskar in a structured and guided manner. The session was conducted under the guidance of Ms. Umang, Yoga-cum-Meditation Instructor, SACCM, who provided appropriate instructions and guidance to the participants. Particular emphasis was laid on correct body posture, proper breathing techniques, concentration, coordination, and disciplined execution of the Surya Namaskar sequence. The participants were guided to perform the various postures correctly and were encouraged to maintain synchronization between their movements and breathing. The activity served not only as a physical exercise but also as an effective means of promoting mental relaxation, concentration, mindfulness, and emotional well-being. Students were sensitized to the benefits of incorporating yoga into their daily lives, particularly in managing stress, improving flexibility and stamina, enhancing concentration, and maintaining overall physical and mental health. The challenge also fostered a sense of discipline, perseverance, and collective participation among the students.
The successful conduct of the Surya Namaskar Challenge was appreciated by Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, Principal, SACCM, who applauded the enthusiastic participation of the students and appreciated the efforts of Ms. Umang, Yoga-cum-Meditation Instructor. He also encouraged the students to make yoga, and other wellness practices an integral part of their daily routine. The Principal appreciated the initiative as a meaningful step towards fostering a culture of health, discipline, and holistic development within the institution.
