The 2nd day of the 7 days NSS camp at Sri Aurobindo college of Commerce and Management was again a great success. A literary drive was conducted in the 2 adopted villages of the college i.e. Village Jhande and Village Phullanwal. The NSS Volunteers were split up into 2 teams of 30 students each. One team went to Village Jhande and the other went to Village Phullanwal.

In Jhande, Dr. Jinesh Jain gave an informative lecture on financial literacy to the villagers. They were given information about the relevance of Medical Insurance, Term Insurance, and other Investment avenues like Mutual funds & Post Office Schemes etc. This helped them make more informed decisions with their money. The NSS volunteers visited various households for the literacy drive and taught the villagers how to write their names and do their signatures. This initiative helped those who never got the privilege to go to school.  The immense enthusiasm and zeal in the people to learn was the main driving factor. A socio-economy survey was also conducted with an objective to have an insight about the Economic as well as Social Background of the Villagers. The survey aimed at gathering information about the households of 2 villages which included information about the respondent’s demographics, qualifications, occupation, annual income, living conditions etc. through a structured Questionnaire.

Principal Prof. (Dr) Vishal Kumar appreciated the efforts of the volunteers and motivated them to keep up the good work.
