The fourth day (18-1-23) of the 7 Day NSS camp was full of fervour and zeal. The day started with a cycle rally from Rakh Bagh to Govind Godham under the “Fit India” movement. The primary purpose behind the rally was to spread health awareness among the volunteers and to spread awareness amongst public regarding health and fitness. 59 SACCM pedallers shuttled 19 kilometers to and fro. The students gave the dual message of being Fit and to save Mother Earth from all the hazardous gasses that automobiles emit. Cycling increases cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength and flexibility in the body on one end and benefits also in making the environment cleaner on the other end. Volunteers encouraged people to take up cycling not only for fitness, but also for daily commuting. The afternoon session was followed by a Cleanliness Drive at Rakh Bagh under the motto of “Swachh Bharat”. The NSS volunteers contributed their bit to keep the city clean. They collected the wrappers, other plastic waste and garbage lying scattered there and dump them into dustbins. The main objective of the cleanliness drive was to address the issues of hygiene and sanitation and making people realize that no one else will clean our earth, rather we have to step up and make efforts to do so. Principal Prof. (Dr) Vishal Kumar motivated the volunteers to keep up the efforts for a clean environment on their personal front.
