The Zenith Computer Science (CS) Club of SACCM organised an expert session on the topic “Git and GitHub for Modern Software Development” for the students of the BCA Department on September 10, 2026. The resource person for the session was Mr. Aksh Malhotra, Director, AstirMind Software Solutions, Ludhiana.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar warmly welcomed the distinguished speaker and presented a sapling as a token of respect and gratitude. Mr. Aksh Malhotra conducted an insightful and engaging session, introducing students to the fundamentals of Git and GitHub and their significance in modern software development. He explained the concepts of version control, repositories, commits, branches, merging, cloning, pushing and pulling. The resource person demonstrated how Git and GitHub facilitate efficient code management, collaboration, project tracking and teamwork among developers. He also highlighted the importance of using these tools in academic projects as well as professional software development environments. The practical and interactive nature of the session enabled students to better understand the workflow of collaborative software development and encouraged them to explore Git and GitHub for their own projects.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person for his valuable contribution and guidance. The Principal motivated the students to continuously enhance their technical skills, explore industry-relevant tools, and stay updated with emerging technologies. The session was coordinated by the faculty members and members of the Zenith CS Club, whose collective efforts contributed to the successful organisation of the event.
