The Zenith Computer Science (CS) Club of SACCM organised an expert session on the topic “Generative AI and LLM Fundamentals” for the students of the BCA Department on August 24, 2026. The resource person for the session was Dr. Dhavleesh Rattan, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar warmly welcomed the distinguished speaker and presented a sapling as a token of respect and gratitude. Dr. Dhavleesh Rattan delivered an insightful and engaging session, introducing students to the fundamentals of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs). He explained the basic concepts, working principles, applications, and growing importance of Generative AI and LLMs in the field of technology and education. The resource person discussed how LLMs process and generate human-like text and highlighted their applications in areas such as content creation, education, coding, research, communication, and intelligent assistants. He also familiarized students with the opportunities and challenges associated with Generative AI, including responsible usage, accuracy, ethics, and the importance of critical thinking while using AI-based tools.
The session concluded with by presenting a memento to the resource person as a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution. The Principal motivated the students to continuously upgrade their technical skills, explore emerging technologies, and use Artificial Intelligence responsibly and creatively in their academic journey. The session was coordinated by Mr. Vijay Chhabra, Ms. Amritpreet Kaur, Dr. Komal Sharma, Ms. Simran Ghatore and the members of the Zenith CS Club, whose collective efforts contributed to the successful organization of the event.
