The NSS Unit of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, in collaboration with Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. and Value Life, organized a road safety awareness program titled “Joy of Safety” to sensitize students towards responsible and safe road usage.
The program aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of two-wheeler safety and responsible driving practices. An online registration facility was provided for all student volunteers to participate in the programme.
The awareness program comprised both *theoretical and practical sessions*. During the theoretical session, students were apprised of essential road safety measures, traffic rules, safe riding practices, the importance of wearing helmets, and the responsibilities of two-wheeler riders. The practical session provided students with demonstrations and guidance on safe riding techniques and precautions to be followed while using two-wheelers.
The sessions were interactive and informative, enabling students to understand that road safety is not merely about following traffic rules but also about developing responsible attitudes and habits as road users. Students actively participated in the activities and gained practical insights into preventing road accidents and ensuring their own safety as well as that of others.
The Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar highlighted the significance of road safety awareness, particularly among young riders, and encouraged students to adopt safe and responsible practices in their daily lives. He appreciated the efforts of the *NSS Faculty Coordinators*, the collaborating organizations, and the students for their active participation in making the program meaningful and impactful.
The program successfully reinforced the message that *road safety is a shared responsibility* and that responsible behaviour on the road can contribute significantly towards saving lives and creating safer communities.
