The Industry Cell in collaboration with Alumni Association of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management (SACCM), Ludhiana, organized an industrial visit to Octave Clothing Pvt. Ltd. Ludhiana, for 70 students of B. Com 1-B as on 18th August 2026, accompanied by faculty members Ms. Monica Sethi and Ms. Ravneet Kaur. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial operations and connect classroom concepts with real-world business practices.

During the visit, Mr. Harjeet Singh Dhaliwal the general manager of shirts manufacturing unit guided the students through various sections of the facility, allowing them to observe the processes firsthand and interact with the working professionals. He also explained the manufacturing process, raw materials procurement including stitching, designing and printing processes including quality control measures, automation, etc. Ms. Kritika, Director of the company, explained students about Octave’s history, growth, future plans to become a public limited company.

Students actively participated by asking questions about manufacturing, technology, quality testing, and career opportunities. They were also informed about the company’s plans for an IPO in 2028 and its expansion into markets such as China, Turkey, and Vietnam. Currently they have there exporting units in countries like Bahrain, UAE etc.

The industrial visit provided students with valuable practical exposure and enhanced their understanding of production processes, operations, quality management, and various industrial practices. The visit served as an effective platform for bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world industrial applications. Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, Principal, SACCM, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the significance of experiential learning in developing students’ professional competencies, practical knowledge, and industry-oriented skills. Overall, the visit was an enriching and insightful learning experience for the students.
