Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana organized an industrial visit for the students of BCOM-1 C to Shiva Glass Industries Private Limited, Ludhiana on 6th August,2026 with Ms. Simarjit Kaur accompanying the group. The aim of the visit was to provide students with practical learning about modern glass processing technologies.
During the visit, the company’s team of supervisors provided overview of the organization’s operations, product range, and commitment to quality and innovation in the glass industry. The participants were guided through various production sections, where they observed processes such as glass cutting, edge grinding, drilling, tempering, lamination, quality inspection, and packaging. The students also gained firsthand knowledge of the advanced machinery and automation employed in entire process. Also, the students visited their aluminium extrusion unit wherein they learnt about the process of melting and moulding aluminium into the different shapes for manufacturing doors and windows. The student had an interactive session with the company officials who addressed all the queries of students regarding emerging trends in manufacturing business.
The visit was highly informative and enriching for the students as they learnt the importance of total quality management and co-ordination in various processes for efficient working in an industry. Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such visits in providing experiential learning to the students by enabling to connect classroom experiences with industrial practices.
