An industrial visit to Ektek Biocare, Ludhiana, was organized by the Industrial Visit Committee on 13th April 2026 for B. Com 2nd semester students, accompanied by two faculty members, Dr. Aashish Garg and Ms. Ishika Garcha, with the objective of providing practical exposure to business and manufacturing operations in the personal care industry. The company, known for developing and manufacturing high-quality skincare, haircare, bodycare, and pet care products by integrating advanced science with natural actives, serves leading brands and startups through customized solutions, private labeling, and contract manufacturing. The visit commenced with an insightful introduction by the department head, who explained team roles and the company’s B2B business model. Students were then taken on a guided tour of key sections, including the raw materials store, laboratory, equipment mixing unit, tube filling line, packaging section, batch printing area, and control sample room, where they observed the complete production cycle- from raw material dispensing and formulation to filling, packaging, and regulatory labeling in accordance with GMP norms. Interactive discussions emphasized the role of mixing equipment, filling machines, and batch coding in ensuring product quality, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Overall, the visit effectively bridged theoretical concepts of Production Management, Costing, and Entrepreneurship with real-world industrial practices, offering valuable insights into FMCG operations and enhancing students’ awareness of potential career opportunities in the sector.
