Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management on March 17, 2025 organised a session on the topic ‘What’s Your Story? Revisiting Our Life Script’ under Shape the Mind Programme. The resource person for the expert talk was none other than the much famed Dr. Sandhya Mehta, Principal, Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology, Ludhiana. Dr. Marinal Gupta, welcomed the celebrated speaker to the college campus. Dr. Mehta started the session in her extremely scholastic and lively style, and greatly dwelt upon the power of manifestation along with hard work in the modern times. She animated her lecture with pragmatic examples from day-to-day experiences. In her highly educative, informative and well packed lecture, she focused on the fact that you can not learn anything if you think that you know everything. You have to unlearn before you learn. Knowing the real you is the beginning of wisdom. In her lecture, she advised the students to listen to their inner selves and work accordingly because those who look outside, they merely dream but those who look inside are the awaken ones. She further wanted the listeners to make their own story. She told the students that they themselves are the stories, and the only thing that they require is to acquaint the world with their undaunting and mesmerising stories. Don’t be afraid of your fears, most of the times they are vague, but they might act as big impediments in the road of success. In her lecture, she talked about various kinds of ego states and exhorted the listeners to deal with them systematically and patiently. In order to be a leader, she asked the students to come out of their comfort zones. She further stated one should be very careful of the company that one keeps. Ultimately, you become what your companions are. Mental health is the key to good life, and if you are happy only then you can be judicious in your decisions. She gave ample of examples from her personal and professional life. She said, develop the habit of reading good books because people who lead are the people who read. The students were all acclaim for the brilliance of the luminary speaker. Dr. Puja Jain expressed her gratitude to Dr. Mehta through vote of thanks. Mr. Sahil Ghai and Mr. Vinay Dawar lent a great hand in making the session a success.
