In a week long Faculty Development Program on “A Paradigm Shift in Teaching, Learning and Evaluation” organised jointly by IQAC and RFDC of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana, the Eminent Speaker of the Day was Mr. Girish, a Digital Learning Expert, IIM-Bangalore.
Addressing the gathering of academicians and scholars, Principal, Prof (Dr.) Vishal Kumar congratulated all the participants for their active participation in the FDP and highlighted the role of such FDPs in equipping the teachers in the changing scenario. The moderator of the 4th day, Dr Meenu Singla, assistant professor in SACCM, introduced the resource person sharing his expertise and valuable contribution in digital learning programs both in industry and academics. The resource person gave hands-on training on the use of various Learner engagement tools and techniques that a teacher can adopt to make his sessions engaging, interactive and lively while creating a learning experience. The learner engagement overview indicating the importance of Content-Delivery-Services was highlighted creating the joint accountability and responsibility of the faculty, course TAs and Program Admins. Various learner engagement tools used in Interactive learning, Quiz, Discussions, Polls, Simulation and In Video Quiz were shared. Use of online sources like menti, oppia, miro, jamboard, quizizz, piazza, edpuzzle, etc. were shared to engage the learners and assess their participation and learning during a teaching session. Dr Priya Manchanda, Assistant Professor, SACCM, extended a formal vote of thanks.
