On February 13, 2026, Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management hosted an intellectually invigorating session under the ‘Shape the Mind Programme’ on the topic ‘How Can an Entrepreneurial Mindset Shape Your Skills?’ The resource person for the expert talk was none other than the famed Dr. Ravi Kiran, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar welcomed Dr. Kiran, and lauded the distinguished speaker for her erudition and expressed his earnest desire for continued academic engagements of similar profundity. Dr. Puja Jain introduced the eminent scholar with eloquent and felicitous words, setting an apt tone for the discourse that followed. In her characteristic scholastic yet dynamic style, Dr. Ravi Kiran expatiated upon the catalytic role of youth in contemporary entrepreneurship. Drawing upon pragmatic illustrations from everyday life, she delineated entrepreneurship not merely as the initiation of ventures but as the capacity to identify personal predicaments, devise innovative solutions, and subsequently universalize those solutions for societal benefit. She exhorted students to transcend the conventional paradigm of passive followership and instead cultivate visionary leadership. A truly impactful leader, she asserted, does not tread the beaten path unquestioningly but demonstrates organizational acumen, critical discernment, and the courage to innovate. To substantiate her arguments, she invoked compelling examples from globally celebrated entrepreneurs such as Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg, whose trajectories epitomize resilience, calculated risk-taking, and transformative vision. Underscoring the imperative of venturing beyond one’s comfort zone; she posited that an entrepreneurial mindset transcends the mere establishment of enterprises. Rather, it constitutes a cognitive framework that augments problem-solving dexterity, fosters initiative, and engenders holistic growth. Such a mindset, she observed, significantly fortifies both tangible competencies and intangible attributes such as perseverance, adaptability, and strategic foresight. An especially engaging segment of the lecture was her nuanced interpretation of business strategies through the allegorical lens of the Hare and the Tortoise fable, which reverberated deeply with the audience and rendered complex principles accessible and memorable. The session culminated in resounding appreciation from the students, who were effusive in their acclaim for the intellectual brilliance and lucidity of Dr. Ravi Kiran’s talk. Mr. Sahil Ghai articulated vote of thanks, and Mr. Vinay Dawar coordinated well for the session.
