The Industrial Visit Committee of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management scheduled an industrial visit to Vardhman Textiles Ltd. on 26th July 2025 for the students of B.Com 5A accompanied by two faculty members, Ms. Simarjit Kaur and Ms. Mehak Arora, providing them with practical insight into the internal workings of a manufacturing unit and helping them relate theoretical concepts to real-life industry practices.
Vardhman Textiles Ltd. is one of India’s leading textile manufacturing companies, established in 1965. Headquartered in Ludhiana, it operates across multiple verticals including yarn, fabric, acrylic fibre, and garments. The visit was led by Mr. Arvind, who provided detailed insights into the company’s integrated operations and eco-friendly practices, particularly in the production of acrylic thread using modern machinery while ensuring industrial safety. The firm places strong emphasis on meeting global quality standards, supported by its robust export network spanning over 75 countries.
Students gained a clear understanding of the continuous production process, including the sourcing of raw materials, their processing, and conversion into fine yarn for further supply. They also observed the dyeing and printing processes, along with the final packaging of the finished product.
Through this visit, students gathered practical exposure to how management theories are implemented in a real-world industrial setup, including concepts such as the division of labour and the principle of order in manufacturing operations.
Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, Principal SACCM, emphasized the importance of such visits for holistic growth of the students.
