Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana, organized a Silent Book Reading Session for the students of the Book Club on 17th February 2025 at 2:30 pm. The event was conducted in the college library, providing a peaceful and studious environment for the participants. Encouraged by the college management and principal, this initiative aimed to enhance students’ reading skills, improve concentration, and develop a lifelong habit of reading. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who engaged in uninterrupted reading, selecting books from various genres, including literature, self-improvement, history, and business studies. The primary objective of this session was to instil discipline in reading, improve comprehension skills, and encourage students to explore diverse perspectives through books. The event also aimed at reducing screen dependency and fostering a love for printed books. Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, Principal of the college appreciated the students’ active participation and emphasized the importance of regular reading habits for academic and personal growth. He encouraged the Book Club to continue organizing similar sessions to keep the reading culture alive within the institution. The Silent Book Reading Session was a well-received initiative that successfully reinforced the significance of books in shaping intellectual and personal development. The session was well organised by the book club faculty coordinators Ms. Esha Jain and Ms. Anchal Arora.
