With Reference to the mail dated 3rd November 2025, from College Development Council, Panjab University, Chandigarh, a lecture on the life and martyrdom of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, was organized on 24th November 2025 under the aegis of NSS Unit of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management. The resource person for the session was Dr Sukhdev Singh. He began by tracing Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s early life, highlighting his upbringing in a spiritually enriched environment and his profound inclination toward meditation, sacrifice, and humility. He emphasized Guru Ji’s persistent commitment to protecting human rights and religious liberty, a legacy that continues to inspire generations. The resource person elaborated on the historical context of Guru Ji’s supreme sacrifice. He explained how Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji chose martyrdom to defend the rights of the oppressed. He also shed light on Guru Ji’s philosophical teachings, including the importance of living a truthful life, remaining fearless in adversity, and embracing equality. Students were encouraged to reflect on how these values can be integrated into their daily lives. The Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar appreciated the valuable insights shared by the resource person. Overall the session was deeply enriching, fostering respect, inspiration, and a renewed understanding of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s timeless teachings.
