The Career Guidance and Placement Cell (CGPC) of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce & Management, Ludhiana, organized an informative session on “Cybersecurity as a Career: Is It the Right Fit for You?” on 17th February 2025. The session aimed at providing students with valuable insights into the field of cybersecurity, its growing importance, career opportunities, and the skills required to excel in this domain. The session was graced by two distinguished cybersecurity experts—Mr. Jatin Jain, a Senior Manager at CYTC Security Pvt Ltd, with over two decades of experience in web development, digital marketing, project management, and cybersecurity; and Mr. Pankaj Yadav, a Cyber Security Speaker & Cyber Crime Consultant, with expertise in incident response, data protection, and network security. At the onset of the session, the speakers provided an in-depth understanding of cybersecurity, its significance in today’s digital landscape, and various career prospects, such as ethical hacking, penetration testing, security analysis, and cyber law. They emphasized the importance of acquiring industry-recognized certifications like CEH, CISSP, CISM, and CompTIA Security+ and staying updated with the latest advancements.
Real-world case studies on cyber threats, data breaches, and incident response strategies were discussed, helping students understand the challenges professionals face in this field. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A round, where students engaged with the experts and clarified their doubts regarding career paths, skill development, and job prospects in cybersecurity. The session proved to be highly informative and provided students with a clearer perspective on the cybersecurity industry. Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, the Principal of the college, expressed his gratitude to the resource persons for sharing their knowledge, learning, and wisdom.
