Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana organized an industrial visit for the students of BCOM-2 A to Hero Cycles Limited, Ludhiana on 18th February,2026 with Ms. Veenu Verma and Ms. Simarjit Kaur accompanying the group. The visit aimed at providing the students with practical knowledge about bicycle manufacturing. The students were apprised about the manufacturing process, production management and quality-control system in the bicycle industry.
During the visit, the students observed various stages of bicycle production like frame manufacturing by cutting and welding steel and alloy tubes, surface treatment and painting by using anti-rust treatment and powder-coating techniques, assembly line operations where 95% of the bicycle components are assembled and quality-testing mechanisms followed before packaging of the bicycles. The students also observed the technology and automation techniques used by Hero Cycles like-robotic welding mechanisms, conveyor belt systems in the rim manufacturing and automated painting booths. The students had an interactive session with area heads of different units in a plant.
The visit was highly informative and enriching for the students as they learnt the importance of total quality management and co-ordination in various processes for efficient working in an industry. The principal and the management of the college appreciated the initiative and emphasized the significance of such visits in enhancing professional preparedness and academic growth of the students.
