Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana, in association with Hitbullseye, organized an expert talk on the topic- Beyond Books- Gaining Hands-On Skills for Career Readiness on September 03, 2024. The resource person of the day was Ms. Tanushree Gupta, an HR consultant and transformation coach with 10+ years of experience in guiding individuals and organizations, an expert in talent management and leadership development and provider of strategic insights for client engagement. At the very outset of her talk session, she went into detail about the various skills required to seek employment. Her emphasis included enhancing one’s communication skills which can lead to more effective interactions, better relationships, and improved outcomes in various aspects of career life. Subsequently, Ms. Tanushree addressed the students about persistence as a trait that, when combined with passion and purpose, can drive individuals to remarkable achievements and enduring success. She also gave the students some illustrations on how to go about critical thinking and problem solving. She advocated participation in extracurricular pursuits, public speaking, and internships as crucial tools for setting oneself up for long-term career success. Ms. Tanushree concluded the session by citing digital literacy, learning agility and adaptability as vital components of gaining professional skills for a fulfilling career. Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, the Principal of the college, expressed his gratitude to the resource person for embracing students with knowledge, learning and wisdom.
