TITILE OF THE BEST PRACTICE I – INFRASTRUCTURE & LEARNING RESOURCES
OBJECTIVE
The primary objective is to foster a culture of academic excellence, facilitate learning, and enrich the educational experiences of both students and educators. By focusing on creating a robust learning environment, SACCM aims to equip teacher and the taught with the resources and support needed to thrive academically and personally.
CONTEXT
The educational landscape is evolving rapidly, necessitating an environment that supports effective teaching, research, technology integration, collaboration, and sustainability. To meet these demands, it is essential to establish a learning infrastructure that not only enhances the quality of education but also prepares students and educators for future challenges.
PRACTICE
To achieve our objective, we have implemented several key practices:
- Subscription to EBSCO Database: This comprehensive database provides access to a wealth of academic journals, magazines, and other resources, enabling both students and faculty to engage in research and stay updated with the latest developments in their fields.
- Membership of N-List Programme of INFLIBNET Centre: This initiative enhances access to numerous electronic resources, including journals and e-books, broadening the research capabilities of our academic community.
- OPAC Kiosk: The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) kiosk allows easy access to library resources, facilitating efficient searching and retrieval of academic materials, which enhances the learning experience.
- State-of-the-Art Physical Infrastructure: Our institution boasts modern facilities that include library and reading room designed to create an engaging learning environment.
- Air-Conditioned Smart Classrooms: Equipped with latest interactive panels, classrooms promote interactive and effective learning experiences, making education more accessible and engaging.
- ERP Qualcampus for Academic and Administrative Functions: This integrated system streamlines various administrative processes, improving efficiency in managing academic records, student services, and administration.
EVIDENCE OF SUCCESS
Integration of these practices has led to the establishment of a conducive environment for fostering learning. The focus on technology integration and collaborative opportunities has enriched the educational experience, enabling a more engaged and informed academic community. Feedback from students and faculty indicates increased satisfaction with the resources available, highlighting the positive impact on research capabilities and learning outcomes.
PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED AND RESOURCES REQUIRED
While we have encountered no significant problems in the planning and execution of these activities, there is a recognition that ongoing improvement is essential. SACCM aims to scale up e-initiatives to further enhance our infrastructure. This proactive approach will ensure that we remain at the forefront of educational innovation.
TITILE OF THE BEST PRACTICE II – EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Objectives of the Practice
The primary objective of implementing experiential learning at SACCM is to enrich academic inputs by facilitating meaningful interactions amongst students, illustrious academicians, and experienced practitioners. This approach not only fosters deeper understanding of theoretical concepts but also equips students with practical insights that are vital in the modern professional landscape.
Context
Experiential learning is grounded on the idea that active engagement in real-world situations significantly enhances the learning experience. This immersive approach serves as a crucial bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application. By participating in experiential learning opportunities, students can connect classroom theories with actual business practices, thereby reinforcing their comprehension and retention of key concepts.
Practice
At SACCM, a variety of practices have been carried out to implement experiential learning effectively. The institution regularly invites industry professionals, distinguished academicians, and thought leaders to share their knowledge and experiences with students. By engaging with professionals who possess a wealth of practical experience and specialized skills, students gain valuable insights that enhance their learning and prepare them for future careers.
Evidence of Success
The success of this experiential learning initiative is evidenced by the noticeable improvements in students’ communication skills and their ability to make informed decisions. Interactions with the students indicate that they feel more confident in articulating their thoughts and engaging in discussions, which are critical skills in any professional environment. Moreover, students report a heightened ability to analyze situations and make strategic decisions, reflecting a deeper understanding of the subject matter through practical application.
Problems Encountered and Resources Required
While SACCM has not encountered significant problems in implementing its experiential learning initiatives, the institution recognizes the need for continuous improvement and expansion of these programs. SACCM’s commitment to experiential learning exemplifies an innovative approach to education that not only enhances academic knowledge but also prepares students for the complexities of the real world, ultimately fostering a more competent and confident workforce.
