The B. Com students of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana visited Jawandson Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana, a well-established house furnishing and export unit associated with IKEA, along with its integrated kids’ toys and apparel manufacturing divisions, Mi Arcus. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to modern manufacturing processes, global supply chain practices, and quality control mechanisms followed by leading export-oriented firms.
During the visit, students observed the complete production workflow—from raw material inspection, designing, cutting, stitching, and finishing to packaging for international markets. The integration of advanced machinery and adherence to international safety and quality standards offered students a firsthand understanding of how Indian industries compete in the global marketplace. The kids’ toys and clothing manufacturing units further helped students understand diversification strategies, compliance norms, and ethical production practices that are essential for export brands.
The industrial visit significantly enriched the students’ learning experience by bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world business operations. Students gained insights into production management, workplace discipline, team coordination, supply chain efficiencies, and the importance of innovation in sustaining global partnerships. Such exposure helps them develop practical skills, industry awareness, and a professional outlook that will aid in their future careers.
Principal Dr. Vishal Kumar of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management appreciated the success of this industrial visit and encouraged the faculty to continue arranging similar opportunities, so that such initiatives can enhance students’ industrial exposure and strengthen their practical understanding of real business environments.
