The 7 Day NSS Camp inaugurated on 21st December 2023 and concluded successfully on 27th December 2023. The theme of this camp was“Selfless Service” wherein volunteers were sensitized about their responsibility towards community. The camp included numerous activities including outreach programmes in our adopted villages, namely Jhande and Motibagh and slum areas of Ludhiana. The Health Checkup and Eye Checkup camps were held in the adopted villages. Rally to create awareness for drug abuse and environmental protection was conducted in the adopted villages. Volunteers visited “Manukhta di sewa” society and slum areas whichcultivated empathy amongst the volunteers and encouraged their active involvement in initiatives promoting inclusivity.The volunteers, filled with enthusiasm, distributed milk, tea, biscuits, and rusks to both patients within Civil and ESI hospitals and the surrounding civilian population. A movie depicting the sacrifices of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji and Char Sahibzade was shown to the students to commemorate the Shaheedi diwas of Char Sahibzade. Firefighting session was organised to give practical training to use fire extinguishers and the strategies were apprised to the volunteers to rescue people while fire emergencies. Other awareness sessions on Drug Abuse, Anger Management and Healthy eating were also conducted. Fitness wherein physical exercises, games, yoga and meditation were part of daily activities. Cyclothon was also organised to strengthened the fitness drive. Apart from these, psychological wellbeing and dance workshops were conducted for the students of government school, Jhande. The untiring and selfless efforts of the college substaff were appreciated by volunteers during thanksgiving . Principal Prof (Dr) Vishal Kumar congratulated the NSS Team for the successful completion of the camp and further asserted that the event vividly embodied the NSS motto “Not Me But You.”
