The Women Development Cell of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management (SACCM), Ludhiana, organized a session on “Myths and Facts of Breast Cancer” for girls students of B. Com, BBA Ist semester and M.com 3rd semester on October 19th,2023 for observing this month as breast cancer awareness and recognizing this day as international day for breast cancer. A renowned Consultant and Surgeon in Oncology Dr. Anish Bhatia from Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana conducted the session. Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, extended a formal welcome to the guest and expressed gratitude for accepting the invitation and sharing his learned experience. Dr. Bhatia is a renowned expert in the field of breast cancer and research having an experience of more than ten years. He started the session emphasizing on the awareness of breast related Myths and facts and the issues that causes breast cancer which includes obesity, consumption of Tobacco, smoking, and dietary factors. He further emphasized on the role of good and healthy lifestyle based upon healthy diet, regular check-up, and mammography from renowned physician. He further elaborated the role of surgeries, radiations, and chemotherapies to cure the disease. Queries of the students were taken at the end of the session.
