The Finance and Investment club of Sri Aurobindo college of Commerce and Management organized an insightful session on 7th October 2024 by Mr. Virender Dutta, a certified carrier analyst and an insurance consultant. He focused on the essentials of risk management and financial literacy. He discussed the two primary financial risks: dying too young and living too long. Life insurance was presented as a solution to the former, while retirement planning addressed the latter.
Mr. Dutta stressed the importance of financial literacy for everyone, advocating for its inclusion in educational curriculum. He also discussed the importance of compounding by explaining the rule of 8-4-3 and rule of 72. He concluded by explaining the basics of financial planning, including budgeting, investment strategies, and retirement planning. The seminar was interactive and highly appreciated, equipping students with practical financial management skills and strategies to better prepare for their financial future. Principal, Dr. Vishal Kumar, appreciated the efforts of the club and encouraged the organizers to continue with such activities in the future also.
