Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management organized its 4th edition of Model United Nations (MUN) Conference. The students participated in full zeal and zest. In total, 154 students showcased their debating and organizing skills. The issue for discussion was Revocation of Article 370 and Recognition and protection of rights of LGBTQ+ community. All the participants, with full throttle, pitched their respective cases on the floor. They were loaded with enthusiasm and packed with logical arguments. Overall, the young debaters gained a lot through this activity.
Ms. Abha Singh, Income Tax Commissioner (Appeals) was the guest of Honour for the valedictory session, where she encouraged the students to be visionary so as to be instrumental in making the planet a better place to live in. Dr. RL Behl, Principal of the college, motivated the students to participate at such intellectual stages, where likeminded people come together and ponder over serious issues which demand human concern. Dr. Sushil Kumar, Director Education, congratulated the young debaters for their enthusiastic participation.
He stressed that students should come forward for such cognitive events. By participating in such events, one gets to know the real situation of the burning issues that society is facing now days. Nirmit Ahuja and Tejas Kaur from B Com Sem 1 bagged the award of ‘Best Delegate’ in UNHRC, whereas Shivam Gulati of B Com Sem 3 was also awarded ‘Best Delegate’ in AIPPM.
