Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Career Guidance and Placement Cell (CGPC) of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana, in association with Hitbullseye, organized an expert talk on the topic- Workplace Etiquette and Soft Skills: Thriving in a Professional Environment on October 10, 2024. The resource person of the day was Mr. Hitesh Kumar Gulati, a corporate leader with vast experience in aligning workforce strategy with business goals, leading change initiatives, driving HR process improvements, and enhancing employee experience. At the very outset, he focused on the key principles of professionalism necessary to thrive in the workplace. Mr. Gulati emphasized the importance of being mindful, respectful, and proficient in all professional interactions. The session highlighted the five pillars of professionalism through TACTS: Time Management- ensuring efficiency and punctuality, Appearance- maintaining a professional dress code, Communication- fostering clear, respectful dialogue, Teamwork- collaborating effectively and Social Media Conduct- responsibly managing online presence. Mr. Gulati also shared practical tips on aligning personal behavior with workplace culture and goals. The event concluded with a Q&A session, where students received personalized advice on how to apply these skills in real-world situations. Participants gained valuable insights into how soft skills complement technical abilities in achieving professional success. The session proved highly beneficial in preparing students for future careers and fostering their development into confident, competent professionals. Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, the Principal of the college, expressed his gratitude to the resource person for embracing students with knowledge, learning and wisdom.
