Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, conducts a “Speed Friending Workshop” with the college psychologist Ms. Lavanya Jain as the resource person for its final year students on 14th October, 2023 in the meditation hall. Twenty students participated in the workshop that aimed at working on the confidence levels of introversion personality type. The workshop began with an effort to boost students’ self-esteem with ‘I’m Worth It’ activity, which ensured that the students acknowledge their strengths by repeating each complement being passed onto them. After the students were made comfortable, it was time for the showstopper event of the workshop, the speed friending activity. This activitygave students a platform to introduce, greet and continue a conversation with provided icebreaker questions. Before wrapping up the workshop one last activity was laid down to work on the fear of public speaking amongst the students. The focus of this workshop, to lend students a safe space to build and practice confidence and communication skills was fulfilled by the end of the event and the students highly appreciated the activities conducted in the session for them. The Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, motivated the students to join such more workshops in larger numbers so that they can groom their personalities in a still better way. He also encouraged the psychologist to keep conducting similar workshops in future.
