Alumni Association of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management organized an insightful hands-on training session on GST return filing, aimed at enhancing the practical knowledge of students in the field of taxation. The session was led by CA Balpreet Malwa from Malwa Associates, a seasoned expert in GST. The principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guest and expressed gratitude through a token of appreciation. The training session commenced with a detailed overview of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), that set the stage for the more complex aspects of GST return filing. The session progressed into the practicalities of filing GST returns. CA Balpreet Malwa took the students to official website for return filing and meticulously explained the various forms that need to be filled for different types of GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-2A, GSTR-2B, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-9. Each form’s purpose, due date, and specific details required were discussed, ensuring that the students gained a clear understanding of the process. In addition to form filing, the session also covered key aspects such as Input Tax Credit (ITC), where CA Malwa explained how businesses can claim credit for the GST paid on inputs. The concept of Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) was also elaborated upon. The session was well-received by the students, who appreciated the practical insights and real-world applications shared by the resource person. The comprehensive nature of the training ensured that participants left with a strong grasp of GST return filing, a critical skill for any aspiring accountant or finance professional.
