NSS unit of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, in collaboration with Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. Ludhiana, organised a Free Medical Camp in Village Mansuran on September 29, 2024. This village is adopted by the NSS Unit as a part of their community outreach. Bharat Vikas Parishad Ludhiana extended an unconditional support to conduct the camp by arranging for the required doctors.
40 NSS volunteers actively contributed to the success of the event, each taking on specific responsibilities. The camp offered medical checkups for blood pressure, blood sugar, ECG, and dental health. Over 150 village residents received these services, and free medicines were distributed. Prior to the camp, students had attended a seminar at DMC Hospital, where they learned about hypertension and blood pressure monitoring. Trained in these skills, they went door-to-door educating villagers about health issues and conducting blood pressure checks. Following the camp, a rally was organized by the students to raise awareness about the “Swachh Bharat” campaign. The Principal and the College Management appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers and commended the initiative of selfless service to build a healthy society. The event was well coordinated by NSS team.
