The Department of Computer Science and Applications of Sri Aurobindo College Ludhiana  hosted an enlightening session titled “The Future of Work: How AR and VR are Transforming Careers.”  On 4th October, 2024. The session featured esteemed resource persons Er. Shilpa Miglani and Mr. Kumersh from the Munjal Birmingham University Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Ludhiana. The event aimed to showcase the impact of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) on future careers, as well as provide hands-on demonstrations of these transformative technologies to all the students of BCA Course.

Er. Shilpa Miglani provided an overview of AR and VR technologies, discussing their definitions and real-world applications. She illustrated how these technologies are being integrated into various sectors, including healthcare, education, and entertainment. Mr. Kumersh elaborated on the potential of AR and VR to create new career paths. He highlighted the increasing demand for professionals skilled in developing and implementing these technologies, including roles such as VR developers, AR designers, and experience creators. The highlight of the session was a series of live demonstrations led by both resource persons. Students were introduced to various AR and VR tools, allowing them to engage directly with the technology.

Students experienced a VR simulation that showcased immersive training environments, highlighting how such technologies can enhance learning and development in professional settings. The resource persons discussed the development process for AR and VR applications. They encouraged students to explore these areas to prepare for careers in the tech industry.

The session concluded on a positive note, with students expressing excitement about the possibilities that AR and VR offer for their future careers. The resource persons emphasized the importance of continuous learning and staying updated with technological advancements to thrive in the evolving job market.

Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, the Principal of the college, expressed his gratitude to the resource persons for introducing students to emerging technologies and their advancements. The session was coordinated by Mrs. Amritpreet Kaur, Mr. Vijay Chhabra, and Dr. Komal Sharma.
